A Week Away!
We have just returned from a trip to the same units on the mighty Murray that we took our kids to on holiday when they were young. It’s been around twelve years since we were there last and boy has it boomed!! The place we stay at is called Cadell on the Murray, named after a riverboat Captain Murray, a long time ago and it is the only motel that sits right on the river as you will see by the photos. Not much more to say other than Jill and I forgot to take any board games or even a pack of cards so we went back over the river to Echuca and sought out a games shop. Well we walked in and my attention was immediately drawn to a large glass cabinet filled with fantasy figures that I almost shrieked in my excitement!!! Hey Jill this is what the boys and girls on the blog paint. I asked if it was ok to take some photos, the young boss was fine with that. I have included some, sorry about the quality! I know that a lot of you folk overseas will be itching to make the trip to Australia soon so if you’re a gamer or just love painting these figures, pop in to the shop and have a chat, it’s called Echuca Games Store. I must say that while we were there another fine lad was setting up some very nice terrain for a game that I’m assuming they hold in the shop as there were a couple of tables set up for this purpose.
Well enough chatter and I’ll just show you all some photos, remember its winter here so that means rain and rain means greenery!!

Thanks Roger autumn certainly puts on a great show of greenery after the baking heat and dryness of the summer, having said that we haven’t really had a hot summer for some years 🤔

Thanks Dave it was a nice little break , My dad built our first house forty yards from The Murray so we had to learn to swim very early 😅😅😅

Spent a Christmas on a houseboat on the river there. It is a lovely place to hang out.

To right mate , we had great times when we took the kids up when they were young, one of the girls just reminded me that we were going to hire a houseboat but never got around to it, may we will try and arrange to do it in the future 🤔🤓

I’ve heard you have beaches too 😉 I’m pretty sure that is why my wife wants to visit!

Ah yes matey we are blessed with fine beaches, there are about 12,000 of them and most are pretty secluded so if your wife visits she will have plenty of room 😅😅. My wife and I have been on some when there wasn’t a soul in sight 🤔🤓

That does sound good. The beaches in the US are fairly well-known and thus, crowded so I will have to pass that along to my wife!

Thanks Marvin, your are right about the similarities, sometimes I say to my wife, hey doesn’t this remind up of….. and generally she agrees. It’s our Eucalyptus trees the can spoil that image 🤔.
