Swan Hill Trip

Well my wife and I have just returned from a brief trip but this time it was on a train. This may not seem remarkable as we have travelled down to Melbourne a few times by train since we moved here, but this time it was northward to the town I was born in called Swan Hill.  I had promised to take my aunt out to dinner on our last trip up there but stuffed up badly so I felt I needed to right the wrong!   We normally would have driven but this time I thought we would travel by train as we both like train travel and it would only take thirty minutes more.  When I was young I had done this trip many times, before gaining my driver’s licence, so thought it would be a bit of fun not having done it for fifty years!!

Well it was a great success thankfully and a great time was had by all.   I took a few shots of our lovely countryside that I’m sure you have missed seeing for some time HA HA!!  We also managed to fit in a short visit to the Pioneer Settlement that my mother helped start sixty years ago and is still popular with the tourists to this day.

(I forgot to say, my aunt will be turning 98 in a few weeks and has an older sister who is 102!!)

Cheers Pat.

You’ve got some great genes in your family, Pat! The photos look lovely though my city instincts tell me that if you see an empty train car, something has gone really wrong in there and to stay out. That’s the rule I follow here in Chicago anyway πŸ™‚
