Absence Explained.

Hey friends, I’ve been MIA for a while now, and I’m finally ready to catch up. So, here’s the deal – I got sick for the first time in years, and it knocked me out for a few weeks. Then, when I finally recovered, my wife caught the same bug she had last year. Thankfully, they figured out what was wrong and she’s back to her old self, fingers crossed!

While all this was going on, the gardens decided to rebel after a bit of rain and sunshine. I’ve been battling it for the past couple of weeks, and it’s been a real challenge. But hey, at least I had a family reunion to look forward to! Mark, my cousin who lives near you, came over for it, and it was a blast.

So, overall, it’s been a wild few months, but I’m hoping things will calm down a bit before Christmas. I trust you’ve all been keeping well. Maybe I’ll drop you a line soon.

Cheers,

Pat

A very busy man pat and illness into the bargain. Glad you and your wife are on the mend. I like the rebellious garden reference, I like gardening including growing vegetables and the war references often slip into my head – the other day I went to pick some fancy black Italian kale 🥬 that I was very pleased with only to find all the plants had been stripped bare by pesky caterpillars. The garden battles go on…… So much safer wargaming 😁

Cheers matey I have been pretty lucky with my war against brassicas white butterfly as all the tiny birds are feeding their nestlings 😉. It’s the grass that’s bloody growing, I have already had two confrontations with eastern brown, one I nearly patted 😳😂, thank the lucky stars he had a good attitude, such is the life in the bush, fortunately the royal cats to old to take the snakes on.

Thanks Dave, yeah I feel it’s harder to bounce back once you pass the Seventy mark 😉. Hopefully the summer will hit soon and kill off all the grass so I do t have to mow the block each week. I have to keep the grass low as an eastern brown snake has decided to move onto the block, nearly put my hand on him when I found him eating mice in one of the compost bins, boy did I jump😂😂.

Thanks matey, I do have a gardener but he is flat out as this town is full of elderly folk, fortunately I’m still able to do most of the chores on the block. I would imagine your flat out also what with the rain and sunshine making everything grow like a jungle😂😂.

Yeahhh but I’d help you for free mate hehe. Yeah it’s the silly season for us gardeners but I’ve also had some back issues that has put me behind schedule too. I complain every year but no one listens haha
