Viking Raid

Size: 60cm (2ft. ) x 30cm (1ft. ) 1.7kgs.

As with the Viking diorama I have stayed with the smaller size. This decision meant I had to make a big change to my original scheme which was to incorporate a Viking ship (I had one but after I’d made the base I found it wouldn’t fit). With the necessary change of plan, the end result was a scratch built fishing boat and a smaller area of water with a little creek and jetty .

US Civil War

Size: 82 x 62 cm

Being much bigger than the last, I ponder why it is that they are increasing in size again? I hold accountable the standard size timbre sheets that I use for the bases. The Medieval village was constructed on one base sheet whereas this one started at half the size. Somehow along the track it doubled itself to be the largest yet. Looking at it now, it’s not the best idea having two that need to be joined.

Medieval

Size: 72 x 62 cm

My second project was inspired by the trip I planned to take my family on to the U.K. A lot of research was going into the holiday; what to do to see and do and this gave me an idea. I’d do a medieval village! My next consideration was which figures to use and after a quick look on the Plastic Soldier Review site…bingo! Stretlets Medieval Britain and some Roman Civilians.
