Well my friends I received the last figures that I wanted for the long awaited diorama yesterday and painted them up last night. They are a new release from Dark Alliance called Anubis Army ALL72053. (I can see the auto correct bringing you down on that title) and are really well done, I call them my dog face boys! Anyway it was a quick paint job so please excuse the sloppy painting but I am in a rush due to the approaching our Winter and I do have a fair bit of water to pour. I don’t like doing it when it’s cold.
The set consists of ten poses which you will see, I haven’t tried to boil any but I can see that there is potential to change quite a few figures which I do on all sets that I use. If you are wondering why I wanted these guys on the show it’s because I feel they will mix in well with the Mummies even though I have gone to green for a change.
Well a quick report on how things are going, first I have completed both bases. This diorama is going to be a bit like the Castle one, first up it will be two separate bases that can be joined, with the chance that further down the track it could expand to maybe four!! I will have to wait and see how many figures I can fit on the first two (I have painted up about six hundred again!).

I’m back, I’ve just stuck the Temple on to base number two and it seems pretty good, so I’m feeling like it could work, but placing the figures is always the bit that makes me nervous, so we will see soon enough!
Thank you all for your patience, fingers crossed I hope I can reward you all with a final show very soon, Cheers Pat.

Great work on your new models Pat, Great poses and the sculpts have period rich weapons and clothing, and who wouldn’t want an army of Anubis marching across a diorama. Look forward to seeing how you fit it all together, and make your multi board set up. Can fully understand not wanting to pour resin in the cold, it’s a royal pain !

Looking forward to seeing what you present us with Pat. I like the idea of multi boards too. Still trying to get my head around painting 600 figures! As for these little chaps they look excellent.🙂

Love the Anubis warriors. My 28mm ones should be on show next week. 600 figures done or to go? Either way as allways you don’t do things in half measure. Cannot wait to see the finished diorama.

They look very nice sir.
I do hope you manage to make it before it starts to get to cold! (Although living in the northern hemisphere that does seem so strange to write as my days start to get warmer!)

Looking forward to seeing the diorama Pat. I reckon you should do one of the dogmen in a red and white striped loin cloth and then let people play a diorama version of where’s doggy. These look the business though.

I’m with everyone else, these look great. I’ve been in the mood to paint something Egyptian myself as of late so this is timely (and not helping me avoid looking online for Egyptian minis)! I’m really looking forward to seeing how they fit into your diorama.

They are great mate , big but the few I have used fit in well especially with the Minotaurs . I tried to do the dry
Brushing but it turned out pretty shit😖so I will have to practice more as I feeling would add a lot to the steps in this case . You can see my feeble attempt soon matey as I have decided I have had enough for the moment and will take a break and come back to finish any details at a later date.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that, mate! Drybrushing does take a bit of practice. you also want to make sure you have a brush that is good for drybrushing. You usually want one that is square or rectangular shaped like a painter’s brush (only smaller of course) and that you dab most of the paint on the brush on a paper towel (I think you call this something else down under but you can work out what I mean). If you do those to things and then lightly apply the brush to the edges, you should be good to go. I’ll look forward to seeing how it looks and will be happy to help in any way I can!
