Well there isn’t much happening on the modelling side so I thought I would just show some photos I took yesterday on our first hike on the mountain for a few months, the wattles have pretty much gone now but there are some wild flowers starting to come out now that we are halfway through spring.
Keep well; I will try to post something more relevant to modelling soon.

Retirement is great Pat and you can’t beat getting out in the countryside for a nice walk and a bit of nature. 🤗

Mt Alexander just east of Harcourt in the central highlands mate, on the west side there are about ten mountain bike tracks, some of them are pretty scary, you arn’t supposed to walk them but we have done all bar one ! just call us cheeky old criminals!!

Know the area well as well used to live in Heathcote and would travel to the Mount frequently. Off course it had nothing to do with the Harcourt wineries did it! We have purchased land at Nagambie which is at the Northern end of the same goldfields.
Old crims don’t go hiking they end up here:

Its funny ,we haven’t visited the old goal yet, but after seeing those photos I’ll make sure we get there soon! I’m waiting on my mate from melbourne to be released so as we can do the wineries but have been a regular at the Shed Shackers brewery !!! Nagambie, a nice little town if I remember well, In my youth I water skied on the lake there, then a bloody great storm came through and we had to skedaddle!

Great pictures Pat, the area is stunning, and I would say relevant to modelling, as it’s great reference material.

Thanks Dave ,and you are so right, I would have loved to have walked it when I was doing the Berdans dio, it was what I was imagining it would look like.

That is very green, much more than I expected but then again I haven’t been to Oz before. Hopefully one of these days I’ll get over there. Thanks for sharing these pictures, Pat. They’re beautiful!

Hey mate you are right in your thinking about the lushness, the green period is only for a short time as it is spring and we have had more rain during winter than normal, I think it is due to El nino or his sister , you would have to look that Spanish family up! I will post some photos of the same place in summer when the temperatures get high and you will see the images that you would normally see .
If you do get to come over mate let us know and we will put you up and show you around, maybe even take you down to Melbourne town and meet up with the terrible IRO !

That makes sense and I hope you enjoy the green period while it does last. You’re making visiting Australia even more tempting! I imagine if three of us are together in one place, we’ll cause some trouble of some kind and I swear that I’m usually very well behaved 😀

Thanks mate it is in our vicinity, but when you go about twenty miles north it just goes flat, all the way to the top of Australia! Ha Ha!When we go up there I’ll post some photos of the northern plains just to show you the difference.

I have to agree with you Rodger, having been to the UK three times and covered most of your beautiful green county there were places here that some time makes me think ! Oh my this could be in the UK. One just have to remember mate that when summer comes it’s back to the burnt brown look that most associate with Auss 🤓
