Well folk its back to modelling as I have finally got some bases made up for the squillion figures I painted when I was out of action after the eyes were operated on.
As most of you would know by now Iβm a great fan of the 95th rifles back in Wellingtons day so I had to paint up some more, I have a feeling it was these guys that I opened my account with the blog about ten years back, the one my daughters cat walked over to my horror, amazingly missing every figure!
Well the best set of the guys was produced by Italeri, there are some made by Revell but they are a lot smaller and would look weird if combined. The keen eyed, and I know there are a lot of you out there will see that I have done some alteration to some figures from other Brit sets so as to add a bit of variation in poses.
The bases are just the standard pine I get from my local hardware store, stained with Nulm oil and any other stains I can find in the shed. Next is the foam core with a smear of plaster followed with the static grass and lowers weeds and rocks.
Thatβs it for now but I hope to get another post in before the big day so keep safe until then.
Cheers Pat.
Warning! My proof reader isnβt available so I take full responsibly for any errors. Ha Ha!!

Very nice Pat. At some point I really must look at the napoleonic period myself. π

I must be the ignorant American because I had no idea what I was looking at until I saw the comments! Ignorance aside, these little guys look great and its always a pleasure seeing your dioramas. Have you ever entered things you’ve worked on in a scale model show? There is a show that’s local to me where these types of dioramas would be a hit is the only reason I ask π

Your excused mate , it would be amazing if we could know every regiment from around the world π³π it was only that us Australian kept close to the Brits that there military influence was so great an impression on young kids.
Thanks, Iβm glad that you like these and I feel with these small ones I can show off more diverse figures from around the globe. Alas figure painting lost its appeal over here long ago, I would venture to say that I would be one of the very few who would be into it π€. Iβm constantly explaining it so I just give them my card and tell them to check out my sight

I barely learned World History in school because we spent so much time on American history. It is a shame as World History is more interesting to me in general.
This is probably a good distance from you, but this show is the type of thing I was thinking about: https://modelexpo.com.au/index.html?page=Home
I think the type of dioramas you make might be well-received there but it might not be worth the trek too. I enter in the shows that are local to me and wouldn’t travel halfway across the US to enter in others.

Hey mate you arenβt alone I have only met a few of your fellow Americans and they to new very little beyond their borders but there knowledge of there own country was impressive ππ».
The model show you mentioned is one I visited some years back as it was only a few miles away from where we lived, a smashing show and if I was living there still I would certainly enter one of my works. But as we now live a long way from there and the traffic being hideous it wouldnβt be worth while but thanks for the point out ππ».

I’m glad to hear it you’ve been to that show and you’ve had that experience. I think your work is worthy of attention and it sounds like you’ve gotten it in the past!

Sorry hit wrong button π€¬, anyway from what I have said itβs a no to your question, very few would be interested and there are very few clubs in Australia. One that note I feel that Gammers would be the only folk interested in purchasing one and they would most likely strip the figures and base them up for a game πππππ».

No worries! There is a bit of a divide between gamers and scale modelers for sure. It seems like that show I sent you embraces both of sides of the hobby. The local show here, MMSI, is the same way. Before I went to it, I didn’t think having both sides represented equitably would be possible!

Your right one that one Jeff, it was at that show that I was able to see Gammerβs for the first time and see how they did it, I came away with a better understanding and respect for there worldπ€

Nicely done, Pat! π Nice variation across all of the bases! I’m not familiar enough with Napoleonic figures to be able to spot your conversions, but all the figures seem to work very well together!

Thanks John, It would be difficult too as I do a lot of cutting and boiling which does make it hard.
