Now that wife is on the mend I have been sorting through all the modelling stuff that’s accumulated in various spots around the house and in the shed and I found quite a few that have never quite been finished. I told myself I must sort these all out, but whether or not this happens we will wait and see.
This one I felt I did last summer and I was surprised I didn’t post it then. It probably got lost at the back of a shelf or more likely my grasshopper brain jumped off to start and half finish some other model!
You will see more of these Plastic Soldier model kits down the line as I have uncovered a whole box of them that never quite came to fruition. The reason they appealed to me some time ago is their simplicity to make, and the number of vehicles included. I think most kits have around three, and I’m sure they were directed to war gamers as they are pretty robust. The detail is good enough for me and being on the lazy side, you will be seeing more of them as I unearth more hidden away in the shed I’m sure. A big plus is they come with crew figures and they do a good set of tank commanders also. The figures are from Heller Africa Korps and are of excellent quality.
One thing I forgot to mention and will be obvious to all is that these sets don’t come with decals; I had some available from other brands but forgot to put them on these guys.
Do you like my new sticker, Fi made these little beauties for me to make my stuff look posh!!
Enough chatter for now and keep well.

I’m imagining we can assume she’s back to full health when she reads your comment and gives you a good hefty whack with a frying pan (not that that happens in my house of course)! 🙂

Yey, really glad to hear that Jill is on the mend. Send her hugs from me. Excellent Diorama with probably my favourite early war tank. I love the 38T’s . Well done Fiona on the design work.

Thanks matey, will do, she always appreciates a good hug. I’m with you on the favourite tank bit, there is just something about it that I really like, and Fi excelled on the sticker side.

I’ve got the PSC 38ts and they’re brilliant, so nice to see that you’ve made one of each variant in the box – they look really good! What is probably even better for me is seeing that you’ve got the really nice Airfix Afrika Korps troops there with them – I instantly recognised the prone machine gunner with the ammunition belts round him, he’s one of my favourite plastic figures of all time!

Totally John, I couldn’t believe how well they turned out, simplicity at its best and as for the Airfix figures I had to buy another set today for use in the future just in case they cease to manufacture them😉.

Thanks matey that’s very kind of you and I’m glad you liked it, I always feel I get better results with the higher quality models a figures , maybe that encourages me to put in more effort😉.

Great to hear your wife is doing better, and on the mend Pat.
Excellent little diorama you’ve done, and Fi’s sticker is the perfect finishing point.

Thanks Dave I have to say I was happy when I finished this one so I can’t imagine why I didn’t get around to posting it back then 🤔. It’s good to have Jill back and being able to do things around the house again though it was interesting learning how a lot of chores get done 😂. And yep the sticker thing was on my mind fore some time but I never thought that she would come up with such a good looking one 👍🏻.

Thanks for posting Pat, did you use your own shade or a bottle version or even a contrast paint last year? I like the green uniforms as well as the vehicle colours. Glad your wife is on the mend.

Brilliant work, Pat! The PSC kits are simplified but can look quite good under a proper coat of paint, as you have shown. If you want to add decals look into Star Decals line, Hannant’s carries them. Happy the hear your wife is on the mend, and Fi has done an outstanding job on your stickers!

That is great news about your wife. If you’re not careful, Pat, people will see that sticker and start thinking you’re a real professional! 😀 In all seriousness, that sticker looks professionally designed and I’m envious! The diorama has a great sense of movement as well. I’d guess that is the key when you’re trying to create a battle scene like this.

Cheers matey, having her back on deck certainly lifts the chores burden. The stickers are very certainly posh and the machine Fi has is amazing as it cuts them out perfectly and I can just peel them off as needed😀. You right the secret is gaining the movement, something that I don’t always achieve 🤨.
